Lesvos - Last Day !

So our last day had us set off after an early breakfast and drive straight to Ipsolu Monastery. It was already a clear blue sky and sunny so hope for a raptor migration was not looking good.
Black-eared Wheatears showed well, Golden Orioles sang from the valley below and then while were all scoping a perched Woodlark, a huge Griffon Vulture soared up from the valley below.

At Sigri a quick check along the coast found us up to 12 Golden Orioles, Red-backed, Woodchat, Masked and a Lesser Grey Shrike, Pied and Spotted Flycatcher. A flock of Bee-eaters were down by the ford along with another 2 Lesser Grey Shrikes, Lesser Kestrels and singing Orphean Warblers.

After a lovely taverna lunch we headed back to check out the Kalloni salt pans one last time and sure enough another great prediction as we were treated to superb views of 35 White-winged Terns, a Black Tern and several Whiskered Terns all hawking for insects low over the water.

A few other things we saw during the trip.
